Every year, the Ministry of Caring hosts a Mardi Gras Celebration for a festive night of laughter and fun. During Mardi Gras 2017, guests enjoyed authentic New Orleans cuisine from Fat Rick’s BBQ and dancing to live music by The Original Chesapeake Bayou Brothers and the Lisa Jack Band.
Funds raised by Mardi Gras help support the Ministry of Caring’s House of Joseph II for formerly homeless persons with AIDS. The permanent residence helps men and women diagnosed with the advanced stages of HIV/AIDS to cope with the disease that is often complicated by the loss of family and community support.
