On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, supporters and friends of the Ministry of Caring will gather at the Chase Center in Wilmington to celebrate 40 years of this organization’s work. A great event is being planned to recognize this major milestone. The Ministry has grown from a single program started four decades ago to provide shelter for battered and homeless women, to over 19 programs and three sponsored organizations that provide support and encouragement to “the least among us.”
From a founding vision that believed it is important to offer hope to those who saw only hopelessness, compassion to those who saw only hard times, and dignity to those who felt only worthlessness, the Ministry operates every day to fulfill this vision.
Barbra Andrisani and Marilyn Monahan, Co-Chairs of this event, are hoping for a large turnout. “We are delighted to be working on this celebration. The Ministry has been there to feed the hungry, provide shelter for the homeless, child care for families so they may work, help find jobs for the unemployed, and so much more. This is the least we can do to lend our time and support to ensure the Ministry can continue its work.”
A wonderful dinner program is being planned for the evening and will be most enjoyable, where we will salute the President and former Presidents of the Ministry of Caring Board and the Guild, along with the dedicated staff. But the most important element of the night will be knowing that with each admission purchased or each sponsorship given, the Ministry can continue to provide programs for the poor.
Barbra and Marilyn add, “We hope you consider supporting this celebration. Four decades of working with those most in need is quite an achievement and your help is needed for the Ministry to operate for 40 more years!”
