Volunteering at The Ministry of Caring

The Ministry of Caring is deeply grateful to the many volunteers who offer their time and talents, on a one-time,
occasional or ongoing basis, to further the work of our programs on behalf of the poor. Civic and corporate groups who
wish to complete a project or collect items for donations to the Ministry of Caring also are much appreciated.

The Ministry has many needs for volunteers.

Ongoing Needs for Volunteers

  • Samaritan Outreach – sorting donated clothing or assembling hygiene kits at Samaritan Outreach
  • Emmanuel Dining Rooms – assisting with food preparation/service at one of our three Emmanuel Dining Rooms – helping to serve dinner for International Night, a monthly fundraiser
  • Child Care – reading or assisting with classroom activities
  • Sacred Heart Village – assisting with senior activities at Sacred Heart Village/Francis X. Norton Senior Center

Seasonal and Occasional Needs for Volunteers

  • Receptionist duties and other basic office work.
  • Hosting theme-oriented parties for child care centers (i.e., holiday celebrations)

Individuals or groups interested in volunteering with the Ministry of Caring on a one-time, occasional, or group basis, are invited to e-mail your interest to jobs@ministryofcaring.org or telephone (302) 652-5523. Please state the volunteer opportunity that interests you.
